How can these two apparently contrasting concepts exist in a sustainable production?  

Environmental sustainability is a necessary sensibility towards man and his progress that meets the needs of the present while safeguarding the future. For this reason, Brummel’s production uses only water-based, sustainable paints, ecological finishes, and eco-friendly materials such as solid wood and raw materials of controlled origin (FSC) to ensure customers and employees safety, both at home and at work.  

The choice to be sustainable is in fact the constant variable throughout the production process in the Cassola production factory, just a few kilometres from Venice, where the waste products of sustainable production become the primary source of power for the factory’s sustainable heating system and are burnt by the company’s incinerator at a very high temperature to facilitate ecological disposal.  

So can a kitchen be sustainable and innovative at the same time? In Brummel it certainly can. The kitchen is the heart of the house and the place where Brummel’s sustainable production started to cross national borders. It is the most beautiful and at the same time the most delicate, the most lived-in room. Here, the dialogue between technology and sustainability is a must have.
